Joshua's First Jump

On May 26, 2002, I had the unbelievable opportunity to watch my son make his first skydive. Joshua made an AFF Level 1 at Sky Knights in East Troy. He did an excellent job and has gone on to finish the AFF program. He currently has 25 jumps and is a soldier in the U.S. Army, stationed in Kansas.

6-9-2007 Here is a picture of Josh on leave.

Joshua with jumpmasters John and Alex.

Josh and his dad, ready for him to make that first jump.

Getting ready to board that "perfectly good airplane".

On the plane, ready to go !

Others sleep, Joshua is pumped !

Just after exit, checking altitude.

Checking heading.

Josh and company being filmed by Mark.

The work is over. Now for some fun !

.... but still altitude aware.

The ripcord pulled and retained, deployment of the canopy begins.

Joshua decellerates, the jumpmasters fall away.

Under canopy, looking back at East Troy Airport and the drop zone.

Approaching the landing area.

Coming in for a great landing.

Ripcord in hand, Joshua yells, "No Beer !!"
