FIRE STUNTS

A number of years ago, I attended a stunt person training session in which my good friend, Rachel Harrison was lit afire for the first time. It was exciting to see how things were done and the level of safety involved! The experience left me feeling that a fire stunt was something I might want to try some day.
That came to be in August 2022 when she was able to get me invited to a professional stunt person burn workshop. Sweet Spot of the Flame trains stunt performers the many aspects of fire stunts before a camera. Obviously, there was an extreme focus on safety. Each video below has multiple views with slow motion at the end of each.

The First Burns - August 18, 2022
All first time burnees start off with individual arm burns.

Right Arm Burn - Let's see how you do

Left Arm Burn - Turning up the heat

Burns 3 and 4 - April 14, 2024
The plan for the second workshop was two burns. On the first, Rachel and I would hold up a copy of PARACHUTIST magazine while our arms were on fire. Then came the big burn, called a 3/4 burn.
